These two pieces were in a mixed lot that I bought at auction yesterday. The shallow cut glass bowl is about 30cm in diameter and a lovely light purple or amethyst colour.

The vase is about 29.5 cm tall and gilded and enamelled. It has a lot of wear to the base and I feel that it is antique.

Are both these Bohemian? The bowl say c1930 and the vase c1899? Forgive me if I’m way out.

Thanks in advance for your help

    John

Are you sure the bowl is cut and not pressed flashed? I'd agree the other is late 19th ish.

I’m certainly no expert on glass but I can see no signs of it being pressed at all. In addition there is a lack of symmetry in the most intricate parts of the pattern that gives the impression that it has been cut. To a novice on glass like me it looks like the clear glass was completely coated in the amethyst colour and then cut back.

Following up your lead @Ownedbybear (thank you) I think it is “flashed” but definitely cut crystal. I think it’s 1960s (ish)and possibly German. I found very similar designs by Joska

I am pretty confident that the amethyst piece would be called "3 Fruits" - American Brilliant Cut - I do not know which company made this particular piece there were several many companies that made 3 Fruits patterns - hope that is a starting point...

I can’t see any chips on the purple one but a small chip on the vase.
