    So now the question is, what are they for? Still egg cups? Or something else?

    2 utensils ..for 3 containers....... think on that a while !
    & the utensils would likely be returned to their hangers after each use.......
    :confused::confused::confused::wacky::rolleyes::rolleyes:

    You could be on to something komokwa - I looked at the photo again and the tray isn't that big compared to the hand, so maybe a tray for individual use? A couple of eggs and an open salt? one spoon for the eggs, the other for the salt? I really like eggs so I'm focused on this being for eggs, lol, it is probably a tray for something else:)

    The idea isn't bad...
    2 soft boiled eggs.....spoon & knife....salt shaker.....
    I see where yer goin......& the soft boiled eggs were usually presented by themselves.....not on a plate with other food !!

    This is what I was talking about ! I once had tiny tined long handled fork and spoon (for cocktail onions and olives) and that is what made me think of what would fit in the holders...I also thought about the cavier angle...which can be served with chopped eggs...as a topping.

    night try contacting WMF thru their web site. I've had positive results in the past, but they can take a while...

    Thanks for all additional comments and photos. Much appreciated.

    Might try contacting WMF... although hoping to move this out pre-Easter. Could always send a note and see if by any chance they respond in a few weeks, can't hurt.

    Was thinking finding the purpose might help in a search. I cannot find anything quite like this. There are older WMF rabbit pieces, but nothing with rabbits and with this sort of modern look. (At least so far in my search).

    Hopefully will find the right buyer.

    you can easily list that as Jugendstil. those flat figures came up around 1900s. very typical are the cigar cutters by Goberg.

    In my opinion if you consult actual WMF website and catalog, it's possible to find what you need, this is a modern made item in inox soldererd by points and tool formed in one operation for the base.
    With Google images it's no result but it can be because original catalogs and websites doesn't accept the scanning by Google.
