I picked this up at the yard sale too. It has a large pontil on bottom, is 12 inch tall and has a rolled top lip on it. You can see bubbles in the glass. It is green but in the sun it has a yellow tint to it. Any info. would be great. Old or New? SDC14425.JPG SDC14426.JPG SDC14427.JPG SDC14428.JPG SDC14429.JPG

Hard to tell, but looks like around 1890's. Could also be newer.

Yeah and also I was wondering what it might of been used for... it's really kind of big. I don't see medicine or milk.

It's a modern form blown using traditional 18th. century techniques, made within the last 50 yrs. or so.
Williamsburg's gift shop sold very similar glass for example.
I'm not saying this is but Blenko blew the colonial type recreations for Williamsburg at one time.
If it were period it would simply be classified as a utility bottle.

    Hi,
A lot of stuff was made to be used in CW and not sold, it is possible that this piece ran away to live somewhere else.

    Hi Rodger,
No need to apologize. I was confused by your post, not angry. Sometimes my humor is a little weird.
