This parlour set has a "sofa" and four chairs. I'd like to know a bit about it. Please!

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

In the case of the chairs, I think often with older sets there were two sizes included, which looks like what you have there. I am wondering if your set has been refinished, with the fabric replaced. Do you know?

    Oh, and welcome to Antiquers!

Thank you! Yes it has been re-covered in recent years.
All I know is that a family brought it to Australia from England by ship in 1914. I don't know how old it was then. The sofa has a high back and a low back, was this for ladies and gents, some kind of love seat ?

Likely fairly new when brought over. Looks to be Edwardian to my eyes.

I imagine it was new in 1914. Unusually delicate, nice to see!

That's funny! They were so restrained and proper in those days.Komokwa.
I can't find one anywhere online.
I'd say you are right Verybrad, it looks Edwardian.
I'd love to know more about it though.
