Featured Information request

My family owned this for a very long time and I wonder if anyone knows where is it from? And how old this could be. Thank you in advance for any information.

 

I don't know if this is tribal art. I could be wrong, but it looks like a replica of an ancient vessel to me. Replicas of items from antiquity have been made for a long time.

 

A picture of the bottom would be helpful.

What do you mean by a really long time?
1990 is nearly 30 years ago. Could very well be a decorator piece from that period.
Be advised, I know nothing about this kind of pottery.

There were very similar pots to yours sold at Pier1 imports during the 1990's. I've tried to remember from what country they originated, but unfortunately am drawing a blank.
