It is 9 3/4" in diameter.
    Any suggestions on the maker?
    Thanks

It reminds me of Lancaster Glass bowls that had stripes around the edge. There is another company that made a lot of black glass. Brain freeze. Paden City maybe?

I am not finding similar shape by Lancaster. I was trying to match it with some from here
    http://www.shetlarglass.com/stretchglass/sgcompanies/SGbowls02.htm
but not sure if it does. Plus don't know if any of those companies had gilt borders. I see that not many of them did black glass. Fenton had ebony line but don't know if the rest did.
Will take a look at Paden City.

My first thought was U. S. Glass Co./Tiffin, but cannot back it up. They did a lot of black, some of it beautiful satin.
