Need to Know

Hello all, I'm new here. I am cleaning out my father's house and am looking to know what this piece of furniture is called so I can research its potential value. Appreciate any and all help.

Well, since I can send photo's now, here are a few items that I have no idea of their value.

 

@johnnycb09 Can you edit out the 3 photos you added? They are not Birdman's item

 

I'm sure folks will be along to give you their opinion of prices for these items !

They may ask for more detailed photo's though...........

I'd appreciate anyone's guidance, but even the correct name for each piece would be very helpful. My dad called the large buffet type piece, "the alter", but that doesn't give me much in a Google search

 

That was just his "pet name" for it. You could try sideboard and hutch in addition to buffet.

 

For the other 3 pieces:

"Dressing table" - use Vanity
"Dresser" - try highboy dresser or man's dresser
"Marble table" - try washstand and make sure to include "marble backsplash" if you can.

If you do happen to post anything else for us to help you with, putting a clue to the item in the title helps get the right folks to look at your item.

 

First looks like an English sideboard circa 1890. Chest of drawers and vanity are 20s art deco. Last piece is a circa 1865 server.
