EAGLE TALON SHAPE ROCK PAINTED LIKE A CLAW PREHISTORIC OR FAKE?

I found this at a thrift store yesterday. I know the paint is new, but where it is chipped you can see it's a stone or granite or something underneath.
Was this a caveman's tool? Or a new copy?
Is that a stone underneath or something new that looks like a rock but isn't?
I had a prehistoric(?) bowl before that had been made - or been used because of it's shape - that had original paint on it (which showed it was from the midwest), and where there was a chip the stone underneath looked like this one
The way it pinches near one end makes me hopeful it's a real stone - and a real tool a modern man painted but had been a great addition for a prehistoric handyman!
    Thanks

I like the fossil tooth proposition too (stop right there, komokwa :) ) but wonder if it hasn't also been worked. It's not rounded enough now for something that grew naturally, not like your very good example:

the underside could just be concave from drying out...or a different K-9 than my pic...

it does seen to be a bear tooth though..
But not knowing the SIZE......it may be from a different maminamal !!!

I'm seeing both sides shown as unnaturally flat, with almost a 90 degree angle between them, but I often have difficulty interpreting photos correctly when it comes to depth.

I also can't tell where it is painted.

Sorry just saw someone had answered this!! It measures 11" long x 2.5" wide
Thank you all - and again I apologize for delay
PS - I thought it was painted because in last pic if you look at corner on flat end nearest camera you can see where it has a small chip(?) and what looks like granite stone inside?

Never imagined it could be a tooth that big! Which is why I thought it was painted (along with afore mentioned chip).
    Great find - wow!

So, we know @journeymagazine’s is 11” long but no clue as to the length of “T-Rex’s”?.......then my double image isn’t much help except to show visual similarities.......still need size comparisons!!!!!
