It was quite dirty but it was easy to wash. There are still traces of brown stains but I kind of feel like it was intentionally made like that to look older. There is also grit on the surface. All that makes me think Asian?
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

Hey Kard, didn't you post some other pottery item with the same mark here lately?

I like this thing. How big is it? Is it hollow or solid?

Grapevines aren't usually a theme of Oriental/Asian art, are they? The vineyard motif and glaze are giving off an Italian vibe I think.

Found it. It's the tall, long necked vase you posted a few days ago. Looks like the same mark to me. Did these come from the same sale? You bought a big collection here lately, right?

It is about 6 1/2" in diameter. Hollow. There are three spur marks on the bottom.
I did not notice that the marks on this one and the vase look similar. I am seeing something like number 4. The sphere and the vase are quite different in design, glaze and clay so don't know if they come from the same place and maker. I bought them from different places.
The grapevines are not traditional Asian decoration but nowadays they make everything there.
I am suspicious that this is more recent because of the dark stains. The Chinese like to make pottery look dirty so it gives the impression that it is old.

The Italians and Portuguese do the same thing sometimes, so that's not much help. I'm getting a Asian vibe off it anyway; it looks like something out of a modern garden supply place and most of that is Chinese or Thai these days.

Hello all - here's an example of a Made in Thailand product. I bought it probably ten years ago with a matching vase at a local craft shop. Sorry about the lighting - I took the pictures on the fly. Don
