I am looking for some info on a piece I found at my mom's after she passed away and wasn't sure where I could find the info so I thought I would start here.
It is a Greek oil flask. It has a tag on it with this info: NO 549 Lekythos Circa 445 BC
on the bottom it has GLoubas #549 Lekythos circa BC Boston Height 25 CMS. I am including some photos also.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Lekythos is the form of the piece. What you have is a reproduction of a lekythos with a white ground. Possibly the original is held by a museum in Boston. (I'm just guessing because of the word "Boston" there.)

I found this article http://assets.cambridge.org/052182/0162/frontmatter/0521820162_frontmatter.htm that describes these and starts to analyze the images painted on them. The introduction to the article says they were "funerary vases, placed in and on Athenian graves."

And, welcome to Antiquers, @Laurie Moss !
