I have a Davy Crockett toy box that I believe is from the early 1950's. It is in really good shape except the paint and finish is kind of faded. I plan on selling it and was hoping someone on here could tell me if it's worth more as is, or restored. I would greatly appreciate any insight I can get.

This one in about the same condition went for $400 in 2011, while the one below in great condition sold in 2017 for $200

Thank you for your input. IveI've s a few on different auction sites. Ranging anywhere from $200 up to $600. And it looked to me like the ones that were not restored got better prices.

Thanks. From the few I saw seemed like the prices range from $200 up to $600, it seems like the ones that were not restored got a better price. But i wasn't sure. I'm kind of new at this antique furniture thing so I just like to make sure.

I try to average at least sold 3 comps, as recent as possible... :)

You don't have one of these laying around, do you?

Well, mistakes are part of the process with antique furniture, just the way it is, not every piece is going to be a home run, far from it.

I had the shirt and the coonskin hat. (I was a tomboy). When the hat fell apart from wearing it so much, I attached the tail to the seat of my bike, as did my friends. ;). I'm officially older than dirt. My grandson has my old toy chest from the 1950s, but mine is the pirate version.
