Hello everyone! I took a short vacation recently and hit a couple of antique malls in northern Illinois and Madison, Wisconsin. Among my new treasures is this little butterfly. It has a mark on it but I wasn't able to figure out whose mark it is. The butterfly stands about 3" high and a little over 3" across. The mark looks like maybe an E and an S. The number 7508 is impressed on the bottom. There is also a small ink mark on the bottom but I can't make it out. Any help in identifying this little guy would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
    Don

    Is it a European seven?

I don't think so. I'm assuming it's European, though. I can't seem to get a clearer shot of the mark - any closer and it blurs - but I'll give it another shot.

This might be a little clearer.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Beautiful -- Recently I visited Reiman Gardens at Iowa State University in Ames. They have an area full of butterflies... and you can walk through it. I took a video when I was in there, but it's too big to upload here.

They also have a butterfly app that can be downloaded: http://www.reimangardens.com/collections/insects/
