Hello I received this in a large lot of jewelry from the estate of a lady who never got rid of anything. They traveled extensively. Is this jade? How old? I’m thinking it may be something good since it’s hand knotted. C8DC5082-AE42-473A-A2CC-4FE1FF58C5BE.jpeg 2CF273AC-9012-4352-B358-AACB9E036F79.jpeg 41367679-083E-4782-B279-E655F0C1ADE7.jpeg

    Hi,
If it is jade it is worth a fortune. That shade of green is very rare. I think it may be dyed so the value will be less. usually more expensive pieces the knots would be smaller.
let the 'joolies" tell you for sure.

Could be jade, but I would have expected the clasp to be gold though, is it really cold to the touch? Could be glass or chrysoprase. Here’s a couple, glass with no knots and prase with knots.

The only way to know for sure is to have it tested, no one can positively ID it from a photograph :)

Yes it’s cold to touch. I’ll have to look up chrysoprase.

Pick up some known glass beads and your beads in different hands, glass will be warmer, jade is icy cold. As Marie said though best to get it tested to be sure.

I assume nothing written on the clasp? If it was a costume jewelry designer like Trifari, etc., would probably rule out jade.

I have to say that my first thought was that the clasp looked kind of lower end. But you never know if a clasp has been replaced, etc.

Would Jade be that flawless?. Or would it be really high quality if it was?
