Vintage Vellum Painting

This is a vellum painting I purchased from the thrift store a few years ago. I've searched the internet and there are some similar ones but I was hoping for some more info on this one. The vellum measures about 8" x 11" and the painting has some writing on it that I'm unable to read. Does anyone know what it says on the painting or any additional information. Thanks in advance for any information.

 

It is Ethiopian, probably on camel hide. We don't have any people who read Amharic or another Ethiopian language.

 

Mr. Green is obviously telling Mr. Blue something which tickles the horses!

 

Hi Thriftster, not sure that's "vellum" looks more like silk.

 

But it's definitely Ethiopian. It's the correct style of painting, the guys are dressed right and have the right features, and that's Amharic for certain. Solomon and Menelek maybe?

 

Thanks for the information everyone. Ethiopian definitely makes sense to me. Antidiem, it looks like silk in the picture but it's fairly firm with the ripples as shown in the picture. I'm almost certain it's animal skin of some type.
