Japanese? Chinese? Pair of Large Vases

    Hoping someone can help me with these large vases. Each one is 14 1/4" tall and weighs 5 3/4 lbs--heavy! They have glazed white interiors, dry rim bottoms with white glaze in the center. Unmarked. The design is sgraffito (though not very deep) and the lines filled with black.

    Are these butterflies?

    What are the flowers?

    Chinese or Japanese?

    How old?

    I expect that these are newer, but any help would be very much appreciated!
