Funky Table

Is this some “oldish” parts cobbled together with some random paint thrown around to make it look old? I will say it is functional. There’s a bunch of candlestick making stuff in drawer, maybe someone was using it for crafts and what not.

 

It is funky, but really cute. Like a portable coffee table! I imagine that the drawer could be a dedicated fly-tying receptacle, or for bead drawing...etc., etc.

The top and those hinges look older than dirt. The base? Not so much. I think this is something my grandfather would have done. He found more than a few old table tops of one sort of another and built bases for them. One was marble. The base is ugly wood from a machine shop, but that table has held up for 80 years and it's rock solid. Odds are this one is too.

 

Yea, the top does look pretty old. There’s candle making stuff in the drawer.
