I really struggle with the marks on Doulton:confused:
@Ownedbybear sorry to call on you again please
I can’t find this stamp online without the lion etc on top. Is 737 the model number?
As for the mess at the top, is that an a?
It’s little at only c10cm tall.
    Thankyou :)

Best way. This happens to me. Posting it here makes me look at something critically.

I'll fish the bible out and check those decorator marks. Yes, 737 is the shape.

That main mark is a bit odd, but looks like a variant on the slip cast mark, whcih is 1912 to 56. When they refer to missing the crown, the lion ought to still be there.

It's a very attractive little vase, am quite drawn to the early look of it and without further information, I would peg it to the 1912 era, rather than to a later one. Thanks, Bear.

Ah, and there was me thinking I’d solved the mystery!
Thankyou, much appreciated. I haven’t found examples of this one online yet so I hope it’s in the book!
Doesn’t it just. I think it really helps to take photos of an object to study, somehow it focuses the brain to pick up detail.

I'd certainly think early 20th, whatever the stamp, agreed. This style is one of their original designs.

Looks like a mid to late Arts 'N Crafts style to me.

It predates Arts and Crafts. Those grape leaf sprigs were used by makers from, oh, the 18th C on.

    Where's the damn book.

Don’t forget to take a long rope and some provisions when you go looking :hilarious:
