Unusual Silver(?) Object - function ???

Hello.

I've just come across a small - supposedly silver - item.

I don't normally collect silver, but am stumped as to what the purpose or function of this item is. I thought it might be perhaps some form of perfume holder, but it appears to be formed as a single piece, without a removable cap. I would be grateful for any ideas or suggestions.

I reminds me a bit of a Thor's Hammer Amulet but w/ the curved ship's anchor base a little off-show the back & measurements.

 

scent bottle....in style....how big is it..

 

Sorry I can't be specific about the size, as I don't actually own the item. I understand that it is quite small, no more than a couple of centimetres wide.
