I thought this was an interesting landscape signed Young Mi Lee, I think. I would appreciate any information and comments. Thank you!

I think the painting's very nicely done and like it. But it may be a "factory painting" if it was produced in China.

    I don't think it's factory art.

    Hopefully it's not.

I was thinking about how companies in China use very skilled artists to knock off paintings very rapidly, producing basically the same ones over and over.

I understand and you may be right. I think this is better than that... not saying a great masterpiece of the ages, but better than that.

Or maybe I just like it. ;)

I really like it, too, and think the artist is highly skilled. I'd hang it in my house in a heart beat if I owned it. :)

That's the problem, I think, with some of what's being done in China. Pre their Westernization, I loved many things I came across that were from China and thought their artistry and skill were suburb.

It seems to me that sometimes they're still using that eye for beauty and skillful approach, but in such an intense mass production environment that I have trouble appreciating their work as much. Plus often they plagiarize the work of others. :(

welllll... I still don't get that factory art feel, but... it's certainly newer than I thought, so I could be wrong about it all.

komokwa The Truth is out there...!

with the slope of that hill the water would not pool like that.....
the stretcher is stapled..... the frame is stapled...
and i don't even see 10 years of dust on the back....
& the painting is so muddy and dull...that I 1st thought it was out of focus !

    i've seen better factory art work....here....often !

    IMHO.......

but if you guys all like it.....I got no problem with that ...:)

I liked it too. :) And these pictures do not do it justice. It is much nicer in person.

Unless someone's buying a work of art primarily as an investment, I think all that really matters is whether or not they like it.

I've never been all that comfortable with the whole status thing that gets attached to certain artists, certain styles, certain methods, etc.

My philosophy is... if it makes you smile, it's worth buying and owning.
