    Hi hi!

I'm picking up a slant-front desk later today, and would really appreciate any info you could provide! I'm very ignorant about furniture and antiques and basically have no idea what I just bought, other than that it's perfect for my needs.

It's not at all important to me that it's fancy, rare, or valuable, but I would love to know a little about it. I'm not even sure that "slant-front desk" is the right term for this piece, but that's what my parents used to call a somewhat similar item they used to have.

Inside the desk are some cubby holes, and the cabinet area is just open.

Right now this is the only picture I have, but I can take more tonight after I get it home.

Slant front or fall front desk, oak, early 20th century, i.e. 1920s or so. Glad it's perfect for your needs, and welcome to the forum!

Okay! The desk is home, and I snapped some more pictures.

Obviously it's not a fancy piece of furniture, and it's certainly not in pristine condition, but I'm very happy with it. It feels very real in some way, and functional.

Anyway, if you have thoughts regarding its age, construction, origin, etc, I'd love to hear them!

I appreciate the opportunity to benefit from your knowledge! Thanks!

Would go with 20s-30s on this. Looks to be birch with a mahogany stain. Refinished at some point.
