japanese(?) porcelain cup with Geisha lithophane

So got these for free from a thrift store going out of business pile. There’s a whole set with plates and bowls, same pattern and all. What made me really think they were cool is that lady’s head and face in the bottom. She only shows herself fully when you hold it up to the light. It’s a really cool effect. Anyone seen this before? Japanese?

 

The face is sort of indented into all the pieces but again, it’s just sort of an indent until you hold it directly up to light.

 

Whoops wrong title lol... any way to change it?

Is Japanese lithophane common? Anyone seen this mark before?

 

I don't see it very often.

Try doing a search on ebay to see what is being offered.

I think @i need help collects lithophanes if I remember correctly.

She might be able to offer you more info.

Here’s the full set. There are 6 each of the cups and plates. The cups are the only ones with the lithophane. The rest bear that mark I posted here. Anyone know what manufacturer that makes these or what the mark means?

 

The mark says Kutani, kind of generic.

Because I have the full set with plates and saucers and teapots and creamer dishes, does the value go up? Or would it be best to sell it all separately?

 

Yeah looks like a region it’s from then? Pretty common?

I think they should stay together. Look at ebay sold listings for lithophane tea sets. The prices are pretty low, but I imagine it's because it costs so much to mail them (and what a headache). Any chance you can sell locally?
