older clock help

    any ideas on type of clock or age?

    Though the patent dates are around the thirties, this was probably made after WWII by the materials evident.

    Looking at the patents, the clock uses patents of "Haydon Arthur William". It was made after 1931 and runs on electricity.

    Seventy five year old electric clocks can be difficult. . . nice when they're running but when the rotors go, they can be impossible to replace. The exception is Telechron brand clocks.....when they closed up production, they made tens of thousands of replacement rotors - and are easily found today.

    Hi,
    When I find an old electric clock that is not running or running incorrectly I try this. Turn the clock upside down and let it run for 24 hours. It seems that a lot of electric clocks that have not been run for long periods of time, the oil settles and get too thick. Most of them start running correctly after the upside down period. An old clock repair man taught me to try that first.
