German silver plated cake ring. Beats a crepe paper one. About 8 inches across. Expands.[IMG]

A dressmaker friend of mine made straight off with this. The lamp is behind it, the model is not a lamp.[IMG]

Peeping around the back of the candelabrum, on the left, is a carved seal from Canada.

Does she (assuming she) sometimes make dresses with this silhouette? Or just sympathetic decor? Love the cake ring too. :)

I'd imagine these days the clothes wouldn't fit that thing, but it's gorgeous.

I reglued the missing stone to this after taking the picture. The bracelet was loose, on its own, but the necklace was hiding in a "jar" - both at the Ill Will. They were just wheeling it out as I was going to leave. Pulled me in like an electromagnet. I found a nice pile of gold too, that went straight to the scrapper. No design value. This however is pure costume, by D&E. I'm going to list it for at least $40 more than I paid for it, and it ought to rocket up from there.

So interesting. And easy to date because of the "Pouter Pigeon" silhouette.

The dummy is an old one and she plans on making a dress for it.

A rather unattractive fashion. How many women are shaped in an "s" curve? (Rhetorical.)

These days the models are often shaped like plastic drinking straws ... and you have to be that shape to look good in the clothes.(LOL) One more reason I only end up "on trend" by accident!
