Welcome, we need some information. To help board members help you... tell us what you know about it, where you are (this is a multinational board), where you got it, how you know it's Japanese, how you know it's bronze and please always provide measurements :)

And do you really mean from the 18th century = which would be the 1700s?

Agree Japanese, no doubt in my mind. One term for it is 'lotus vase'.
It is a perfect design. So nice to see real Japanese, without all those 'frills' or grotesques, for a change.
While it looks late Edo period, I am not sure if it is 18th or early 19th century.

    Tagging @Ce BCA and @Mat .:)

The vase is a touch over 7 inches! The spout our top is about 6. Very heavy for its size. Believe this a lost wax casted bronze. Late edo period most likely. I acquired this from a estate sale in Washington state! Not sure of the alloy with the copper. Could be copper and 3 % gold alloy? Our most likely tin and some other metals.

That alloy is shakudo, mostly used as accent inlay or small items like knife handles, tsuba, minuki(small objects wrapped on sword handles".
