HELP WITH ARTIST OF PAINTING

    I found this at a thrift store today. At first I thought it didn't have a signature but then I found what looks like Joe L something (last photo).
    Can anyone tell who the artist is?
    Any thoughts on the painting? (is it Haitian?)

    Hm, I'm not sure but wanted to say that I found a site where somebody is compiling a list of Haitian artists. Looks like there are people named Joseph and Joel, but nobody named Joe among the ones listed. Could it be Jos. L, or Joel?

    By the way, it looks like that website has been around a long time and may not be updated.

    1950s from the skirt lengths and frame. Parrot question... Anything on the back?

    @journeymagazine Not sure about this piece but wanted to say that you are non-stop Journey, I'm seriously impressed by your perseverance everyday! Even that hostage situation doesn't seem to have slowed you down! Ha.
