I've got these gorgeous glass beads that arrived on a manky bit of modern elastic and I’d really like to do them justice as I think they are stunning.
They feel and look old- do you think they are or just lovely modern made ones?
What sort of restoration would enhance them do you think?- personally I hate stretch bracelets and would rather do something more substantial with a lovely clasp but important that it looks contemporary.
    Any ideas very welcome :)
Apologies if I’m hogging this forum with all my Jewellery questions but you are all so knowledgeable

There is no such thing as hogging when it comes to jewellery. The more, the merrier.

They look Czech to me, but I will leave the exact id to the costume joolies.

I agree... no such thing as hogging here. :)

Nice beads and I also think they may be Czech and could be recent or vintage. I've had small beads that I know where made in the Czech Republic that have incising and gold paint in the incisions. Here's an example...

The Czech really are good at glass aren't they!

KSW - those are gorgeous! If one is built like a model, with a long neck...what is now being called a statement necklace...

Laid end to end, do they make a chain long enough to fit around your wrist without the elastic? I would probably string on 2 strands of monofilament (fishing line) with small round beads (I'd go with black or gold) in between so the sections will be able to articulate & not be stiff. I like toggle clasps for bracelets, finding them easier to work with one hand than most other types.

16cm laid end to end and my wrist is 18cm (see, no models here Silverthwait). So with a clasp and maybe some narrow spacers it would be perfect.
I quite fancy a Sterling clasp. Do you think it would work on Sterling chain too?

I'd be threading those to make a rather spectacular end on end pendant. Fine gold coloured wire or chain, not silver. They look 1930s Czech to me, malachite glass. You could keep a couple back for earrings.

No reason why not, if you're into messing with it. It was originally elastic, but I'm not sure how old. There may have been some spacers in it that got lost. They are now however spare parts to mess with as you wish.

I hadn’t really considered making it into a necklace but I will now. I see what you mean about gold, it would go with the green much better.

Love it! Almost certain it's Czech. I bought a similarly molded glass necklace in the Czech Republic:

I think a necklace might be less susceptible to damage. You could do it as a block, or a line of the beads. I quite like the idea of a line of them. And then earrings.
