Very tall - 13 3/4" - amber glass vase with what I'm sure is a nice decal of Brunhilde. All of her gold adornments--crown or tiara, necklaces, belt, bracelets, earrings, are in raised gold, and there are raised gold scrolls beneath her. The domed foot is marked only with a very tiny letter H.

Any ideas on age or maker?

    Thanks!

Looks European souviner type vase to me. Possibly an independent decorator, The "H" may be a clue.

I think it's hand painted. Possibly Harrach, though I DON'T think the H indicates that. H is just a decorator mark or some such. Harrach did this type thing and their painted and fired on pieces were certainly executed by some terrific artists as this piece demonstrates.

Of course there are a number of other Bohemian glass houses that produced some gorgeous pieces along these lines. Harrach is first to mind and the art work is certainly up to their standards.

It's probably Bohemian glass. Are you sure it's not Broom Hilda?

It looks like a standard (13 oz??) pilsner glass on a long stem - but I don't believe that one would drink beer from a coloured/tinted glass - or at least a purist wouldn't

I would look very carefully at the "H" Does it appear there was any other markings there that have worn off? (there is one small dot to the left of the H. I was thinking possibly "Fritz Heckert" (Typically signed F. H. and a number)

Thank you all so much--haven't replied b/c I've been under the weather.

I thought about Harrach, but Brunhilde appears to be a decal that was embellished by hand. Would Harrach have used a decal?

desperate_fun--there is a . before the H but no evidence of another letter., so I'm inclined to think just a decorator mark.

    Hi,
Are you sure it is a decal??? Look at her skin with a loupe do you see dots? When I enlarge her I do not see dots but ends up pixelated. I am hoping she is enameled.

Well, I don't see any dots--looked with a loupe. When you look at it from the back (through the glass), you can see all the same detail. Does that make a difference? Would a decal or enamel be translucent?

Aphoto from the bask and high magnification of a smaller area of the front might help the paint/decal issue.

Thanks, George. I'll do that shortly--the dog is waiting on his morning walk, so I'll do it when I get back.

Here are a few more photos--hard to take a pic of the back of Brunhilde because the opening is narrow and I can't get the camera in there.
Also, I noticed that someone said it looked like a standard 13 oz pilsner on a long stem. Actually, it holds 24 oz. At just shy of 14" tall, I'm pretty sure it's a vase.

I'm beginning to think it's enamel, not a transfer. There are very tiny air bubbles in the paint, which you can see in the last picture.
