I have been searching all day. I have searched every flower I think this pattern could be, every description I can think of, I have searched wildflower sites and put out appeal on Facebook. ..but I cannot find this pattern!
It is a Royal Doulton dish. 7979. Iridescent (or pearlescent? ) glaze. I believe 1939-55.
I can find poppy dishes. ..marigolds. ..roses....but can't find this....I have no hair left ....I have pulled it out in frustration
    Please help me!

No disrespect but it looks a little as if maybe a hobby painter gave it a go.

Hey... I managed to do full size image...but it is rather blurred

I assumed I thought I knew what was meant by a 'hobby painter'. I don't think I do It looks like someone got their 12 year old to have a go at painting but I wondering if a 'hobby painter' is a thing?
It does seem very basic and not quite the quality it should be. I like it though

Owned by bear....I am very ignorant. ..what does that mean? Did/Do people ...employees have a go at painting on a plate for fun? Were they allowed to do this? I take it these plates never ended up in general circulation?

People could buy "blanks" and decorate them as they wished.

Sorry, too much shorthand on my part! There was a bit of a thing for people to buy a blank plate, then paint designs on them. So, yes, hobby painting was a thing. Right from the18th century into not very long ago. Not emplyees, but regular people. ;)
