Wood and Tin(?) Coconut grater? Another goodie from Suriname?

15” x 4 1/2”. The wood does not appear to have a finish on it. No markings on the back. Again, I apologize that with packing up an entire household, I don’t have time to search for similar items online. Thank you, everyone, for helping me in this journey of identifying things my parents collected over the years..

 

I'm thinking spice grater - like nutmeg or cinnamon.
Here's a newer vintage one in the shape of yours. The one you have may have even been home crafted from a previous larger grater and a hand fashioned piece of wood.

 

Sure looks like. I've used one just like Rayo's; the OP's looks hand made.

 

That would be nifty to have as a nutmeg grater.

 

Isn't it a little bit giant for a nutmeg grater?

Coconut grater makes more sense to me.

I know nothing about this... I just think grating nutmeg on something that size would be more of a "finger grater" than anything else.
