Got this nifty looking vase in a box lot auction a few days ago. It was thrown in with a bunch of candles and an old electronic chess game. I had to pay $55 for it. Oddly enough, the person I outbid asked me if I was bidding on the chess set. I said no and he offered me $40.00. It's probably worth more than this vase!!

Anyway, is this Loetz? Also, there is a bronze patina metal banding around it. It's loose on one side and needs repair. Should I remove it? Also, there is a small crest that reads MONACO. Any idea what this is?

Can't help with the maker, but that is the Grimaldi coat of arms so I assume that it is a commemorative piece from Monaco. I know that some of the "gifites" from the fabled Red Cross balls were mighty nice!!!!

I am leaning towards Kralik "Silberband"

I'll see if I can get confirmation

And I would leave the mount on.

    Hi Vitry,
It is a wonderful object and LEAVE the mount on (I did mean to shout). It is a great cross collectable (glass & Monaco).

I cross posted your images to one of the Facebook pages I am a member of. I should have more info later, but so far "Kralik" seems to be a likely suspect.

A couple of very knowledgable Czech Glass collectors confirmed my initial ID
    Kralik Silberband

It is a really nice piece.

Yes leave the mount on even though it detracts from the glass.

Heckert did make some stuff that resembled Silberband. This is not one of them.
