Hi there, I'm having a difficult time finding information on this pair. They are about 7.5" high. Appreciate any help.

I don't have an account at Worthpoint to see what they sold for, but maybe I should. Do most collectors and sellers use them? Is it a good investment?

I cannot tell you about that. Maybe someone else would know.

I would not use them. I would guess 1960's or even early 1970's. If I remember correctly these do not have much heft to them because they do not have a heavy glaze. Salt deposits can be a real problem with lightweight pottery. As for investment value, the market for these is in a downturn right now. The collectors who really wanted head vases have more or less completed their collections. These would still sell but I don't think they would command a premium. On the other hand, you have both the boy and the girl. Having the pair usually increases the value. They also look very clean. If they were mine and I did not wish to keep them I would put them on the market as a pair on an auction listing to see how they do. I do not expect the market for these to increase any time soon so I don't think holding onto them will increase the value. Just my opinion.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I have been doing fine without the Worthpoint investment. I have a real reluctance to provide my credit card information to a site for a trial membership unless I'm sure I will keep the account and use it heavily.

  9. this set I would definitely keep. It is pictured as a set in the Head vase and Identification value book by Kathleen Cole (this book was published 1989) and the boy and girl where valued at 600 way back then. The Author also states in her book "These "Hummel like heads are extremely rare." This is the only pair the Author further states on the set she has ever seen. If you do sell I would suggest placing them on ebay for a minimum of a grand. You are very lucky to have them.

Someone did say once that it was a real headache to cancel his trial membership.

Thank you very much for your response. There were some repair issues with them, so they took a while to sell on Ebay.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Worthpoint is not a FREE membership.....to me not worth it unless you use them regularly......
