    Poor thing got wet or was kept in a humid place a bit too long - it's in a state. The design looks like 20s/30s.

    I don't really see anything particularly oriental with this bureau-bookcase on stand, other than the painted decoration. Speaking of which, I am known to be in general against applying paint to furniture, but in this case the effect is rather interesting (except for the inside, there is no excuse for that).
