wooden tool id?

    Does anyone recognize what this wooden tool might be? The wood is mesquite and 16" long. If I had to guess, I think it might be used in leather making or processing hides, perhaps scraping sinew off of a hide? TIA

    Looks like a bucket yoke, but a little short. Maybe made as a tourist souvenir.

    thats too nice craftsmanship to be a scraper. Looks to me like its a furniture cabinet handle that hasn't been attached. rather long for that, so not likely. What makes you think 'tool' ... guess? or do you have some more info about where it came from?
