Chinese Tea Pot or Kendi

At a loss to fins a description for this, any help would be greatly appreciated. Small measuring3-3/4"H.

 

japanese teapots usually has a side handle, but a handle with a hole is strange EDIT: just remembered that chinese medicine brewing pots have side handles

 

Its a yokode no kyusu, or side handled Japanese teapot. Traditionally used while sitting on tatami mats I think, across from your guest. The hole in the handle allows for smooth pouring of the tea. This was one I had a while ago, late 19th or turn of 20th century. Mine was a little bigger, maybe yours was for only one or two servings. Nice one
