I found these two items but can't fathom what they could be. I love the ziggurat style. Any help appreciated.

Larger one is 4” diameter at base and 2” tall. Top inner diameter is just over 1.5”. Not sure if it’s a base for something.

The smaller one with hinged top is 2.5” diameter at base, 2.5” tall with inside diameter 1.75”.

Thank you...the bottoms are covered with felt. Would inkwells have an insert? Or just put directly into we’ll?

The lidded one made me think of sterno. Maybe for a fondue/warming pot

I do not think they are Art Deco.

could be a fondue box made by the famous Swiss industrial designer Hans-Rüedu Hintermwald for his daughter Anne-Rösli.

I'd call them Deco. From a desk set. Inkwell missing a glass liner, and table lighter missing an insert.

Well, the ziggurat look and metal make it art deco in style if not truly of that age although one may be.

But the interesting lid seems unecessary for that...who knows.

I'd think they went on a rather splendid tray with some other bits.
