Greetings from NJ

    Hi Everyone:
    I hit upon this forum while trying to identity a Portieux Vallerysthal milk glass compote and also a particularly vexing milk glass dresser bottle.

    Back story: my late mother was a part-time antique dealer and full-time collector. Needless to say, I grew up in a home that was somewhere between the Smithsonian and the Addams Family's home. She's been gone for a bit and now that I've emerged from from my...I don't know...stupor? fog?, I realize that she had a lot of beautiful things that I really never paid attention to (and tons that she hid from my dad!). So I am trying to identify all of her glass and crystal and china and pottery and silver, etc. etc. etc.

    I'm glad to be here. And I'm looking forward to learning!
