Featured Large lidded basket

    Core is pine needles. Could be native American but not sure. Anyone know anything about this big beauty? It's almost 2 feet tall with lid and 14 inches across. Was given to me by my uncle to sell on commission so I am gathering data on it in order to make a well informed listing on ebay.     A Tutsi basket eh? Thank you both for such a detailed and informative response! The damage is indeed unfortunate.

    Those baskets look remarkably well preserved for 1900s! They are very nice
