Hello Everyone! I'm looking for the manufacturer of this little pitcher. It measures about 6 1/4" high. The bottom is marked but I couldn't find it in Godden's or in web searches. Does anyone recognize it? I think it dates sometime around the late 1800's. Thanks for any help you can provide.

It's a pretty pattern... I love how delicate it is.

I can't make out the word above "ENGLAND"?

    It's just a series of initials. I think basically it's B.A.Py.Co.Ltd

Looks like a typical late 19th C. Staffordshire jug. You'd probably never find that maker, nor would it make any difference. You could just as well make something up and if anyone questions it say it was some other men of the same name.

Claim it was an all woman pottery and the name has been removed from history by the oppressive males who write the records.

Lack of attribution opens the doors to inventive fiction. Sells antiques like nothing else.

Thanks, afantiques. The sad part is that everything you're saying is true.
