Hello from a newbie

Hi my name is Lusha and I've just signed up.
I live in South West France with my hubby and we're just starting up a wee business buying and selling vintage items. We scour the French countryside going to Vide Greniers and Vide Maisons looking for interesting items. We have an online shop and next year we're opening a physical shop. We don't see ourselves as Antique dealers, but we do come across some really interesting items and while researching one I came across this forum and found the information absolutely fascinating.
Looking forward to joining some of the discussions.

Wow! thank you all so much for the welcomes..... makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Just to give you all a bit of background - we bought a 200+ year old village house almost exactly 3 years ago - this is an adventure in itself! We wanted something we can live in while renovating and it's been absolutely wonderful. We got the house on an 'as is basis' meaning we asked the elderly owners NOT to clean it out. So we've ended up with some really lovely furniture, lots of odds and ends - mind you the owner and his son did come for several trailer fulls of stuff before we finalised, which was a bit unfair as our offer was for everything in the house and he accepted it.... but hey, we still have lots of great stuff. We've of course had to make several trips to the tip as many things were just too far gone. Hubby (who will also join this forum shortly) has been re-wiring the house and has found some really fascinating coins under the floor boards - a silver coin from Napoleon III, and several coins from Vichy France. There are lots, lots more interesting things..... old houses keep their secrets for a very long time.
