Featured Very strange creature - wood carving - fantasy or mythical?

Can't seem to get decent pics of this...thing...no matter what I do - maybe it's one of it's mythical properties, kind of like bigfoot, bigfoot always shows up blurry in photographs - he's just blurry. Anyhow, this is about 10" tall from base to the tip of the horn, and about 7" wide from the front to the back.

A tail, one leg, one horn, one big long ear...and one arm coming out of it's head with the "hand" resting on it's brow - and a big long trunk holding a...snake? at the end. Is this some mythical creature that is evading my googling skills, or just someone's fantasy / nightmare fuel?

My immediate thought was "Hieronymus Bosch", but I don't really think it's that.

But it makes me a little wiggy, just like Hieronymus Bosch does.

Pretty bizarre, aaron. I hope that thing doesn't carry any bad JuJu along with it.

 

So far it's stayed out of my business and my dreams ...so far.

Chameleon

 

Yes - the eyes and the arm and the stance - all very chameleon like - it also very much looks like the one described as an elephant Shetani in the wikipedia article - perhaps it's a chameleon mimicking an elephant?
