Hi, i was wondering if anyone could give me any information on what i have here. It appears to be made of copper but im not sure. Weighs 11oz. Also possible age? There is a company mark on the back which reads "p.p&co" but i couldnt find much online about it. Also i was wondering where the church was located? There appears to be a faint signature above the makers mark which i thought read "sailor" or something along those lines but can only make out an "s" and a "a". Thank you for any information.

Even after a lot of years not seeing one, that looks like a Holy Water wall font to me.

Is there a church name on it somewhere? I can't see one.

Agreed. Holy Water font...and to think, I used to stick my fingers in those things and touch my face.

In terms of time period, looks Art Deco era to me.

holy water is what i thought too but the front seemed pretty small but i guess the size changed since then. Do you think its made from copper? I thought the name "credo" was the name of the church but i did not find any other name on it.

Credo is Latin for "I believe." I'm thinking this might have been part of a home devotional.

Yes, seems to be more appropriate, especially if it's on the smaller side. The ones in the church weren't huge, but they had to hold enough to account for a large group of parishioners splashing about.

What are the measurements? It looks normal church-sized to me.

Although, I did attend a small church.

Tough to tell about the material. It could have a finish applied to it.

In the last photo, is that a little chip on the edge right under the mounting hole?

JMHO. if it's a stoup then it's missing an insert - either glass or same metal as the rest. with those garlands it doesn't look deco to me, rather generic old style victorian historicism.

It measures 7 in tall and 3 1/2 in wide. Here are a few pics of the bottom. Im not sure what the white residue stuff is on the bottom. Also sabre it appears to be white paint. I believe someone was probably painting a wall and maybe got a speck of paint on it.

Also what would you call this if you were going to sell it?

Rink, could those be mineral deposits from water left in it?

I'd call it a home holy water font...

Like Fid said, some have glass inserts, but some have little bottles with caps on them that sit in that cubby, too.
