Green pottery jug with applied leaves--help with id, please

    George bought this 7" tall green pottery jug this morning for $2.00 at a local estate sale. The form is similar to an Uhl Pottery jug we already own but the bottom is different and our jug does not have applied leaves. Any thoughts on who might have made this? Or does it matter?
    It's around 3" in diameter on the bottom.

    That is weird. Except for being green, it doesn't look like leaves, more like an accident. Hope you find out something.
