Vintage Oil Lamp

Probably the cheapest antique I ever bought. $1.50. I don't think it's particularly old, but I'm thinking of breaking into the world of antique lamps, so I decided to start with something cheap, small and simple...

 

Not an antique.
Most likely 1960s.
Does the burner knob say Hong Kong?

Notice how the burner collar screws on the outside of the lamp? That indicates new.
Old collars are attached by plaster.

It's a nice little lamp, but as you guessed not old. Unless you think 50+ is old.

 

Looks to be possibly marketed by Lamplight Farms although green fonts weren’t their thing. You have to start somewhere. I got started a long time ago and still going at 200+ lamps.

 

I have seen some beautiful lamps, but I want to find a good source for wicks first, before I buy anymore.

 

I hesitate to say it but here is my two cents worth. eBay has many many people selling wick of all widths for very little. Just look for oil lamp wick. I buy it 10 feet at a time.
