Dragonware Moriage Tea Cups. Age and maker?

What do you think of this pair of tea cups and saucers? Was in a nice auction box recently. At first I thought they were very old but the raised decoration are making me think otherwise so I'm not sure of any information regarding these so whatever you can share is helpful.

Couldn't find it in Gotheborg. I'm with bakers... newish.

 

Besides the modern look of the decor, the 4 characters across the top (which are in reverse order from the way they should be) read "Dai Nippon Nichi" but I can't see a character for Kutani in the 2 below the shield. The mark is trying to be Republic period (ended 1912) but I suspect 1950's or later.

Let's trying tagging @Mat who is much better at this than I am.

It was quite late when I made that title. Really meant to write Yunomi not kutani. I don't believe these are kutani, yet do not know what makes some thing exactly yunomi...

 

Okay, now I'm even more confused. Where did you get this new term? It's nowhere on Gotheborg, not even in the Glossary?

Totally right. I've got too many Japanese items and words floating in my head.

After some more research I am back to thinking these could actually be antique. And I've updated what I think is the most accurate description - dragonware with moriage

 

Well, I'm going to wait for Mat. I think he will be a much better source.
