Pottery Dancer

Hello, I wondered if you could help. I’ve been in my mums attic and found a porcelain figurine of a dancer I kept as a child that my grandma gave me. I don’t think it’s anything special. I think the N mark means it’s some sort of modern knock off of Capodimonte but I am just curious what the flower mark means incase anyone knows? I was going to give it to my niece who likes ballet but I’d love to know where my grandma may have bought it. Thank you.

 

It's one of the modern "Capodimonte" marks, and probably sixties ish, ballerinas were a thing. Did your grandmother ever go to Italy?

 

Thank you for responding. She went to Austria and former Yugoslavia once but I don’t think Italy. I will ask my aunty. Were they mainly sold in Italy or in the UK as well?

 

They were certainly sold here, and also in other European countries. Tourist pieces, often.

 

I used to collect figurines of dancers. That is a nice one... meaning I like the pose and the look of it. Know nothing about who made it, though.
