Tintype Mystery Item? Opinions

    Hello,

    Purchased this Tintype Yesterday,

    Thought the item under the girls arm was a accordion, but now I'm not so sure.

    Any opinions on what it is? IMG_4158.JPG

    Does look like some type of accordion but danged if I can find one.

    It's the reed knobs/stops that seems to make it different from all other types.
    Is she Russian?

The Cajun accordion has multiple reeds for every button and the number of reeds sounding is controlled by four stops or knobs.

    Seems likely.
    Beautiful dress. Would she be 'well off' to be wearing that?

    I know it's old but I'm always amazed at the condition of these since they weren't cheap and were a big deal.
