Hola, y'all!

I finally "read the directions" and realized that new members are supposed to introduce themselves here. What a great idea.
I'm a native Houstonian, now displaced in Yankee-land (Cleveland). I am a nontraditional artist, using unusual materials (Bondo, spray paint, styrofoam) in addition to acrylics, oils and precious metals. My themes are Mexican and Southwestern, and my style is usually folkish, reminiscent of street art and graffiti, although I dabble in realism.
I sell art locally and regionally. I also sell online a little bit, mostly for the fun of "meeting" people from everywhere and sharing ideas (it's awkward to sell my art based on my pathetic photography... I'm never comfortable with that... people should see and touch art to appreciate and purchase it, I believe). I'm "loro-rico" on eBay and "GaleriaGila" on ETSY.
I love animals, history, anthropology, poetry, monster movies, cold rainy days and hot Mexican food.
It's my hope that I can give and receive help/support in the arts, and also antiques (especially natural history prints, in particular, birds), pop culture, and Mexican-American culture.

You seem to be able to capture the.......whats the word.........panache.....of your subjects in a minimalist way. I really really like them.
