hey y'all... another dumpster save... I don't believe it's an original painting because I don't feel any texture... excuse the goofy pic but didn't want all of you tilting your head trying to see it... artist is J. Koning... any value to this at all?
Thanks for the closeups, Jacqueline. It looks like your seascape is a photolithograph (photo offset print), and it looks like it was coated to try to make it look like an oil painting with brush strokes. In my experience, when the small dots in a photolithograph show as small circles with a tiny dot in the center, the prints have been relatively older, like from the early 1900s. But I don't know if that's always the case.
thank you for the info. Sad that somebody threw all this in a dumpster. They threw out a house full of antiques also. I liked the picture and also the frame.
That may be just a photo-litho....but i hope it finds it's way to a clinic , cuz that scene is really soft and soothing. Always amazes me what folks throw away.....in our disposable society...
Mass produced textured print from the 50s or later. If there is any value, it is as a decorative item or in the frame for an alternate use..
Your cat stole the show, ya know. Anywayyyyyyyyy... not sure if I'm helping or just complicating, but this page yielded a number of intriguing possibilities. Good luck. https://www.google.com/search?q=j.+...AcQ_AUoAGoVChMI28mEraryxwIVBpyACh0oIQjB&dpr=1
