Hi I have this dish and it has been in my family for a while. I'm trying to find a value for it because it got damaged in our move and the military will reimburse for it. Also I want to know more about it. I have a couple images uploaded here: https://www.antiquers.com/media/top-and-inside.192/full

It has a stamp that says Austria on the bottom and some numbers but they are hard to read.

I'm sure there are those here who would like to help you , but pics of your jeans and computer are getting in the way of your item.

Take some clear shots of it, front & back on a neutral color...& let us see what can be learned.

    PS...Thank you for your service !! :)

    Hi
komo is correct - we need to see the bottom. Not only the mark, but the way it was finished.

I took the liberty of cropping your picture that resulting in a closer enlarged view of the dish; however, as others have said, we need a pic of the bottom. By cropping your pics before uploading, makes them easier for us to see.

I hope these help. Under the Austria stamp there are some numbers that are extremely hard to make out but I believe they are 1163311 or 11633II

    Thank you
    Much better pictures.

When I first looked at this, my thought was that it might have been hobbiest painted. Now seeing the bottom, I do not think so.

The large hole in the base seems unusual.
    Wait for other thoughts.

Is that a hole in the base or inside the lid? If inside the lid, it's probably a humidor. That hole would be for a wet sponge to keep tobacco moist.

The hole is on the lid. I always wondered why it was there.
