I'm ignorant on numismatics, but I do know that the object pictured isn't Chinese knife money (CKM). CKM was bronze and about 7" long, resembling a straight razor with a loop on end of handle. Your item appears to be iron, smaller, and wrong shape for CKM. I don't know what your item is, and I'm confused as to why it has green crud on it when iron doesn't produce green corrosion products that I know of.

  3. You are correct, it is a weapon. On the crud issue most "bronze" age money & weapons have some degree of "crud". Half way down first page is a pic of the weapon I have. Also mine is same exact measurement

The link goes to a martial arts page with no knives. Anyway if u say it is bronze of course that explains the green stuff. I took the brown as iron but come to think of it, really old bronze can look like that. It does look completely like an excavated ancient bronze dagger.
